European healthcare investment slightly rebounded after a quiet Q3 with €2.6bn invested across Europe in Q4 2022, up 6% quarter-on-quarter. A total of €12.4bn was invested across 2022, down 6% compared to a record 2021. Despite market uncertainty and a slowdown across all real estate types in Europe during H2 22, the Healthcare sector proved its resilience as volumes remained 13% up compared to the five-year average. The two largest markets were again the UK (€3.5bn, 28% of the 2022 total volumes) and Germany (€2.2bn, 17%), while France registered over €1.4bn of healthcare deals (12%) and Finland €1.3bn (11%). Nearly half (41%) of investment in 2022 was in the care home sector, with a further 10% in the senior living space and 13% in hospitals and clinics.
