Executive Director, Head of Valuation and Transaction Advisory, Middle East, Africa and Turkey
Simon is the Head of Valuation and Transaction Advisory MENA Region overseeing Valuation Advisory, Capital Markets and JV Hotels MENA.
Experience
Professional Valuation and Transactional Advisory Services are key to the performance and reputation of Developing/Emerging Markets.
Prior to joining JLL Simon spent nearly 8 years with the Valuation Office in the UK and over 11 years as Head of Valuation (projects) & Partner in the Industry, Energy & Logistics division at Gerald Eve.
In 2008 Simon joined JLL and moved to KSA as the Head of Valuation Advisory for the Kingdom, based in Riyadh.
In 2010, Simon was made responsible for running JLL's Regional Valuation Advisory Business in MENA and has provided a wide range of professional services to clients including Advisory Services, Valuations for various purposes-Portfolio Optimisation, Specialist Assets, Loan Security, Accounts, Capital Raising (IPO / PPM), Development and Investment Strategy, Transactional Services (Transactional Structuring/Tax mitigation, Structuring Joint Ventures / Sale and Leasebacks, and advising on disposals and acquisitions) and Expert Witness. He has substantial experience advising on prominent high value projects / assets in many markets across Europe, USA, Asia and the Middle-East, in addition to significant experience is the valuation of specialist transportation (Airports, Ports and Inland Waterways) and Industrial Assets (Factories / manufacturing facilities, Logistics and Utilities).
Simon has acted as an Expert Witness in the UAE, KSA, UK and has appeared before the Land’s Tribunal in valuation disputes with respect to Compulsory Purchase Orders and a number of Tax cases. As part of his duties whilst at the Valuation Office Simon regularly presented cases to Valuation Tribunals and Courts as the Inland Revenues expert.
Simon was appointed Head of Valuation and Transaction Advisory MENA Region in 2019 where he oversees Valuation Advisory, Capital Markets and JLL Hotels Divisions.
In his 25+ years as a Real Estate Professional he has worked/advised clients in a wide and diverse range of markets including, UK and Central Europe, United States, South America, Eastern Europe, South East Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
Education
Simon holds a Diploma in Surveying from The College of Estate Management, Reading.

Simon is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS), member of the RICS MEA Valuation Group/member of the RICS Commercial Property Professional Group, RERA Registered Valuer and an Accredited Taqeem Valuer in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
