While there were signs of increased confidence and higher activity levels, the Dubai market continued to move in the favour of tenants / occupiers in the final quarter of 2011, as supply levels increased the choice available. The lingering affects of the Arab Spring continued to have a positive impact on the Dubai market, reinforcing its long standing role as a ‘safe haven’ in a volatile region. Less positive influences in the final quarter included concerns that the Euro debt crisis would slow global economic activity and an increased focus on portfolio optimization, which constrained space requirements of major corporate occupiers.
